In 2003, Louis Vuitton’s multicolor monogram was born from a collaboration between Marc Jacobs and Takashi Murakami for the company’s Spring/Summer collection. This radical new pop design went on to become a world-wide hit and an animation produced to commemorate the monogram, SUPERFLAT MONOGRAM, was also the subject of much attention.
Now, 6 years after the original event, Louis Vuitton will celebrate the spring of 2009 with the release of a colorful new design for small items, called MULTICOLORE SPRING PALETTE.
In conjunction with the release of this new line of products, a new animated sequel, SUPERFLAT FIRST LOVE, will be available for viewing on Japanese mobile phones from April 28. The movie can be downloaded from the Louis Vuitton Japan mobile phone site. After this exclusive Japanese premiere, the animation is then scheduled for global release on the Louis Vuitton web site.
From Japan to the world... We hope you look forward to the arrival of this new fantasy world, brought to you by Louis Vuitton and Takashi Murakami.
On another note, the original SUPERFLAT MONOGRAM was made available for viewing on YouTube from April 8, 2009.
You can see it here: http://www.youtube.com/user/xxxLouisVuittonxxx
Special contents designed to celebrate the MULTICOLORE SPRING PALETTE are also available for a limited time on the Louis Vuitton Japan mobile site (http://lvmonogram.jp) and the official Louis Vuitton website http://www.louisvuitton.com from April 10.
Be sure to take a look before the animation premiere!
