GEISAI Success Stories vol. 3 - Kikuna Mishima

Today, we’ll be reporting of the release of another success story featuring GEISAI artist on our YouTube account GEISAI TV (in Japanese language only).

The pickup artist for the latest release is Kikuna Mishima, who won the silver prize in GEISAI#12.

Kikuna had also won the scout juror’s award from BUILDING Inc. at GEISAI#10, and currently works as a photographer.

Kikuna at our Nakano Broadway Gallery preparing for the special exhibition where her works exhibited at GEISAI#12 will be shown.


One of her works became the cover jacket for an album released by a Japanese rock band Sparta Locals.


We visited the artist at a sento (Japanese communal bath house) in Nakano, working on another jacket cover for an all girl band called BO-PEEP. It was a rare opportunity for us to have a glimpse of her quite unique and interesting shooting process.


During our interview performed on a later day, Kikuna shared a lot of her invaluable experiences as a creator with us.
