A Report on Figure Modeler BOME’s Latest Onimusume

In conjunction with this May’s Hong Kong art fair, figure modeler BOME has begun work on a new edition of the Onimusume designed for him by artist Hiroyuki Utatane.


A promised two-shot with Executive Director Miyawaki. Kaiyodo rules stipulate that no presentation by BOME is complete without his presence.


And now, here’s BOME!


Today’s meeting took place at the fabricating company Esora Keikaku, located in Nara, approximately a one hour drive from Kaiyodo.


We arrive at Esora Keikaku.


And this is Esora Keikaku’s President Hiroyuki Hara. The studio has also had a hand in works by Yoshitomo Nara.


Here we see work being done on the new life-sized Onimusume. This being the second time they’ve undertaken the task, they seem much more satisfied with the results.


Here we see a smaller version of the same figure. BOME will contine work with this as a reference.


The new life-sized Onimusume will make it’s debut at the Hong Kong Art Fair.
